CARE TIPS
TAKE CARE
A handbag or accessory made of high-quality leather is a long-term investment. Leather is naturally a durable, hard-wearing material, but it requires appropriate care.
LES VISIONNAIRES BAGS CARE AND CLEANING
- Protect your LES VISIONNAIRES bag from rain, excessive heat, chemicals, and rough surfaces that can easily scratch it.
- Need a break? Then store your bag or accessory in the LES VISIONNAIRES dust bag. Stuff the bag with a bit of paper to help it retain its shape.
- You should avoid carrying heavy or sharp objects in your pocket.
Waterproofing spray
To prevent rain and moisture from staining LES VISIONNAIRES bags, they require a protective coating. Waterproofing sprays are designed for just that purpose and should be reapplied every six to eight weeks. But be careful: less is more here.
PROPER IMPREGNATION:
- Cleaning: Gentle cleaning before impregnation helps the spray's ingredients to develop optimally.
- Waterproofing: Spray the LES VISIONNAIRES bags with a thin layer from a distance of approximately 30 cm using even motions. Avoid over-wetting the bag.
- Allow to dry: The impregnation should be left to dry for about 20 minutes at room temperature.
- Repeat: Repeat the process two or three times.
STAIN REMOVAL THE GENTLE WAY
Did your bag get wet? It's best to dry it stuffed with (unprinted!) paper at room temperature. But please never place it on a radiator or try to dry it with a hairdryer, as this will only make the material brittle. Sunlight would also be fatal – it will bleach the color.
For all other stains, there are usually good stain removers or cleaning sponges available. When purchasing, make sure they're suitable for the material in question. You should also test the cleaning tool on an inconspicuous area first to be sure. Then you can carefully try to remove the stain.
Important: Handle the material gently and don't forget to re-waterproof the handbag or accessory afterwards.
WOULD YOU LIKE SPECIAL TREATMENT?
Each material is unique and requires individual care. Here are the best tips at a glance:
SMOOTH LEATHER
Whether cowhide, nappa, or calfskin: All smooth leathers benefit from regular care treatments with a suitable leather cream, milk, or mild cleaning foam. This not only preserves the leather's color but also keeps it supple and beautiful for a long time. But be careful not to overdo it, or stains will result!
SUEDE
Suede, suede, and nubuck are among the most sensitive types of leather. Water and oils—watch out, hand cream!—can quickly leave stains, so suede should only be cleaned dry. A suede brush is your best friend for minor stains. For larger stains, you should use a special suede cleaner.
By the way: worn areas can be quickly refreshed with a brush like this. A quick waterproofing treatment, and you're done!
NYLON
Synthetic fibers are generally easy to care for. Dirt can usually be easily removed with mild shampoo or soap and lukewarm water.
